"I purchased this from ideal world and i can honestly say it is the worst thing i have ever purchased off any shopping channel. It was great for the first couple of months and then the halogen bulb blew. Please do not waste your money on this product, i think ideal world should have done a recall on this item, might use less electricity but i cant afford to replace the oven every few months.....false economy"

"I bought this product after watching several viewings.
The oven works reasonably well on certain cooking but not very good with hard vegetables such as potatoes, these had to be pre-cooked.

Now the oven is going in the bin, the halogen element stop working after just a few months. I managed to get a replacement from the net but the wires and connectors were not compatible. I stripped the oven to fit the new element but the element supports made of poor quality steel snapped from heat fatigue so the element was no good anyway."

"Having had two Halogen Ovens this year I could not recommend them for durability! The first (a present) the element failed after a couple of months so I replaced it with another cooker which has also blown the element. When they work they are excellent but come on Cookshop sort the faults out.You cannot purchase replacement bulbs but you don't expect to buy a new cooker every couple of months."

"bought this oct 2011 already the thermostat has gone awaiting what to do with the Halogen Oven I'm going for a refund disappointed with the product now wasn't before I used it every day made cakes, bread etc: Cookshop need to get to the bottom of why they are having problems with this.
I will buy another Halogen Oven but else where sorry Ideal world no disrespect."

"Was debating weather to buy a halogen oven,then i saw this on offer, so decided to take the plunge ,so glad i did,i have had the oven for a month now,and it has operated flawlessly!
was a bit sceptical about all the claims of how succulent it roasted meat, chicken.pork etc,etc,so went out first day bought a chicken,i must say,my scepticism was unfounded!
it was the most moist succulent chicken i have eaten in my life,i did not realize chicken could taste so good, i usually
smoother it in some kind of sauce ,to mask the dryness,but with the halogen the eating experience is much more pleasurable ,brilliant for fish as well,i have not used my main oven since i acquired the halogen
wish i had bought one sooner? i am definitely a convert to the halogen way of cooking,of course i will still use my main oven when needed?
but i would say for 99% of the time it will be my new found kitchen aid!

"I have bought 3 halogen ovens in 3-6 months this is due to heating element not lasting long. Halogen needs to sort out this problem. I would be wary recommending this to friends /family I would tell them about my experiences with this item. When its working its great but i am wary of the element going again."

"I use mine almost every day and it is so much faster and easier than putting my oven on. Couple of recommendations for it's improvement to a 5 star review.
1. The racks wobble around meaning that trays/food move around or fall off when trying to turn over. Sturdier racks please.
2. A button on both sides please for the lowering of the lid."

"Having just returned a similar oven to another seller as it arrived broken saw the demo on ideal world and thought that's for me it arrived yesterday and this morning I was looking forward to doing a full english breakfast for my son and I it was a disaster the rack kept slipping, it took ages to even get the bacon half cooked, tomatoes did not cook at all for my first experience it was a disaster.
These are the questions I would like answered please:
1. How can you use your high rack and low rack together there seems to be nothing separating them so I do not see how it is possible to use together.
2. Also how does the extension ring work I have tried it all ways through the guide book but cannot get the ring to stay in the bowl? Help
3. I understood you had to oil the bowl and racks and little pans so to speak before use which I did and this caused the fat from the bacon to spit and spat everywhere.
4. It took forever to get any color on the bacon, and the rack only allowed four pieces of bacon and a couple of tomatoes around the edge not great....
I think that this Halogen Oven is a fad and no more than that all the home shopping channels are selling them and I think in six months time no one will be selling this oven, and there are dangerous aspects to this oven for sure.
It is not easy to take the racks out of the oven whether using the tongs or not all it will do is escalate my electricity bills I fear.
I will probably be returning it as it is not what I saw in the demo on Ideal World perhaps you have to be a qualified Chef to use this equipment.
Very Very disappointed and an expensive mistake.

"I've given this as a Xmas present to my son and his fiancee .they are delighted with it and when i told them u wait till u save money not only on ur utilities bill , but time as well when cookin' a meal .She said he maybe able to cook a meal with it for a change ....i think she's right as they are so easy to use . "I bought this halogen oven because I was fed up with washing up my Falcon cooker grill which is huge. I also liked this one because it had a hinged lid. I used it for bacon, chicken drumsticks and breasts, sausages, sirloin steaks, fish fingers etc. I wanted to get the cookery book at £10. I used it for about 6 weeks and then it stopped working, I think it needs a new halogen bulb, which by the way you can purchase from Wolf for £11.99 plus postage, you just have to measure the width because there are two to choose from (they also do their own halogen oven). Then you can fit yourself or get local electrical repair man to do it. I haven't bought one yet as we have had so many bills lately. I suppose I could send it back and get a replacement or refund. Then one would need to purchase another and pay postage again, it's just so much hassle. Ideal World need to get this problem sorted out.and make it easier to get replacement bulbs directly from them and advertise the fact. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to keep returning the product or just throwing it away."

"I bought this some months ago. Was in its box for a while because I was moving. Since I`ve opened it, I`ve used it so many times in a week. I`ve had every electrical gadget over the years. This is brilliant. If it broke, I`d def get another straight away. Roasts meats quicker than big oven+ doesnt dry meat out, bakes anything+grills bacon that tastes fried. So easy to clean. Even my son has said how amazing it is! From someone young thats a big complement!...x"

"the oven it self is great and cooks the food realy well.i had mine for just over a yearwhen the the bulb decided to blow.the cost of replacing one is about £10to buy..but its not easy replacing one.i gave up and decided to bin the unit.i bought another one from a different company that lasted 5 months then the bulb went again.think they are best left alone till the bulb problem is sorted out.."

"They say there always has to be one bad review but this is the first time I have ever written one. Thats how bad this oven is. I thought I would start off simple to get the feel of it so in went a packet of sausages. Book says low rack 150 for 10 mins. 20 mins later the sausages hadnt even started to colour and not so much as a drip of fat in the bottom of the bowl. Upped the temperature to 200 and another 20 minutes. Now we have a postage stamp of dripped fat and a slight browning at the edge of the sausages. At this point I gave up, took them out stuck them in my Tefal Actifry and ten mins later I am eating my sausages. Yes half the electricity but twice as long to cook. I normally do my sausages in the Actifry and takes no more than 20 mins and only because my wife likes them well done. Expensive packet of sausages when I add the cost of return P&P but this is sadly the worst most useless piece of kit it has been my misfortune to purchase. Only gave it one star because there is no option for no stars. Would not recommend this to anyone other than someone with lots of time to spare"

"I have now owned one of these for almost a year, was the best investment I have made, I can do a full chicken roast dinner for 4 people including veg and crispy roast potatoes in under an hour, and the saving on my electric bill has been very noticable, my main oven is now only used for the hob (not very often), although that will soon be redundant as I have just ordered an Induction hob.
If you have been considering getting one of these, then do make sure you get one with the hinged lid and the extension ring, don't delay, you won't regret it, the heat up time is just so quick, and I have never been disappointed with the results."
