"I've had my Actifry for well over a year now, and wouldn't be without it. It's so versatile, I've made loads of meals in it, from a basic stew to seasonal fruits in brown sugar. But best of all, chips, they taste fantastic - just like 'real' ones! You would never know that they hadn't been deep fried. I can't prise this product highly enough, and I've even bought one for my daughter. Every home should have one!"

Best piece of equipment ever bought

"Brilliant machine would recommend to anyone, not only for chips.Great for sausages, perfect for roast potatoes, curries, chillies and lamb chops,Bought mine May last year, only problem now is I am unable to use it as the element has blown, It's an expensive piece of equipment to last such a short period of time,So we are back to the "chippy"as I can't afford another one."
"This is the best kitchen product i have ever bought. i can honestly say that chips and roast potatoes are second to none. Actifry very easy to clean, cooking smells are minimal. chops and sausage are so moist but it take it take a while to clean afterward. It look great on my work top. All my family and friens are jealous but its mine and no one else is borrowing it. Best buy every, buy one now !!!"
"I hesitated in getting one of these because of some negative reviews on other sites, but eventually I could not resist and took the plunge and boy am I glad I did. As others have said chips are second to none, but it does soooo much more, I use it everyday and would not, no could not be without it. I recommend this to all my friends and urge anyone who is hesitating like I did, please don't, just go for it ,you will not regret it. I cannot recommend this enough, brilliant, just brilliant. How did I manage without one for so long ?"
"I use mine practically every day - not for "chips" because, quite frankly, the only real chips are twice-fried in lard so are no longer an option, but try halved new potatoes, bacon rashers rolled and spiked with cocktail sticks, small onions or shallots, sliced carrot, all tumbled together - a perfect meal for one. Drawbacks - the tumbler blade is not easy to clean without a dishwasher but needs to be left to soak, but the pan and lid are no trouble at all. And it is not totally smell-free as suggested by other reviewers, but all in all I would not now be without it and I resist all attempts by my daughter to "borrow" it."

Best Purchase ever

"Hubby bought this for me as a Christmas present. I wish I had bought one long ago, Chips are so tasty and roast spuds the very best ever, tasty and golden brown. Chicken, chop, sausages so moist and tasty and NO SMELLS lingering around anymore. So EASY to clean, after making chips just need to wipe it out with carlton roll. Deep fryer has GONE. Will never be without my Acrify Fryer ever again."
"I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY TEFAL ACTIFRY, IT DID ALL IT CLAIMED WITH ITS COOKING. AFTER A SHORT TIME THE PLASTIC LUGS THAT HOLD THE LID DOWN BROKE, TEFAL REPLACED THE LID, I AM NOW ON THE SECOND LID AND IT HAS BROKEN IN THE SAME PLACE.THE ONLY WAY I CAN USE IT NOW IS TO PUT A BRICK ON TOP TO HOLD THE LID DOWN. SEEMS THERE IS A DESIGN FAULT OR THE WRONG MATERIAL USED FOR THE LID. VERY DISSAPOINTED."
"What do you do with the only potato in the house? Make chips in a Tefal Actifry of course! Weather delayed its arrival, hence lack of taters to chip, but we spent a novel 15 mins mesmerised by the slow turning paddle of the new cooky toy. Thoroughly enjoyed the exquisite quisine of ... the great chip buttie lol Wouldn't have known we'd cooked chips at all, no aroma during process. Needless to say the shopping list is full of things to try out. If as tasty as the chips we're in for a wholesome, healthy 2010 :)"
"The Actifry is very good when working but when the motor burns out within 14 months, as mine did, it then becomes expensive, even if Tefal were prepared to offer a 30% discount if I bought a new one.
I certainly wouldn't buy another one and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either."

"I COULD NOT MAKE MY MIND UP AFTER READING THE REVIEWS ON THE ACTIFRY,THERE WAS A LOT OF BAD REMARKS MADE,BUT DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY, AND I AM GLAD THAT I DID,HAVE NOT STOPPED USING IT, VERY GOOD, FOOD TASTES MUCH BETTER."
"Having stopped using our regular deep fat fryer for health reasons plus the awful smell it gives off, thought we would give this a go as it is on 3 easy payments. Tried making chips using the spray oil as shown on TV but chips just tasted like dry potato. Then tried with oil and the results were truly amazing. Sausages were our next venture and, once again, have to say they were delicious. Did a batch of chilli with superb results. Spurred on by our success we threw in some frozen roast potatoes and the outcome was much better than when done in the oven. I would say though that you have to keep an eye on the potatoes as they tend to become wedged under the blade which stops it turning. I would imagine this would contribute to a burnt out motor. I am constantly amazed that as I watch things go around it I am thinking 'that wont be cooked in time', only to see things crisp and brown before my very eyes! Who needs the TV?!"
"I bought one of these when they were first launched on Ideal World. In my opinion it was the best purchase I had made in a long time. However the motor did burn out about 2 months ago and Tefal after service did offer a discount off a new one and I would still buy it again. I know the initial outlay is quite steep for a kitchen implement but it really is as good as they say it is. Now it is on flexipay it makes it an even better bargain. I am going to treat myself to another one because if you get a lot of use out of it and it lasts for 2 years I thnk you have got a bargain. If you use it every day for 2 years it only works out at just a staggering 20p per day. I think that is more than well worth it. You can't do much for less than a fiver these days so get one and enjoy the lovely use you will get out of it."
"Dont think of this as just a chip pan I have done stir frys, chops, sausages, chicken drumsticks, chicken curry all sorts its great the chips may take a little longer but they are worth the extra 10-15 mins and they are delicious and lower in fat which is worth the wait and my oven chips used to take that length of time to cook in my oven and they always tasted like cardboard and were always soggy and also a really good deep fat fryer is £80 £90 even more to buy and you have to change the awful oil and you have yucky cooking smells, you have none of that with an actifry its really easy to clean as it has a non stick finish and you dont smell like a .chippy when you use the actifry"
"Bought one Early on Ideal World, best chips we have ever had at home, so no soggy shop bought one's any more. (Bought an other Actifry for spare in case we wear one out). Sausages, parsnips great, going to try the chilly in it at the weekend. The house smells a nicer place now without the deepfat fryer, gone down the dump. Go on try it, You have nothing to lose do you?"

"This shouldn't be called a fryer because it does far far more.
What a wonderful product, I purchased the Actifry late 2008 and haven't stopped using it since.
I cook chilli, casseroles, CHIPS, vegetables, sausages, roast pots, bolognese sauces, stir fries etc.
In fact I will let you into a secret, since buying the Actifry I have now purchased your wonderful Halogen Oven and I do not now own a conventional cooker and I have not missed it once, they are both WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL."
