"I bought one of these a couple of months ago when it was POD and I am so pleased with it, so much so I have ordered another 4 today for my family. I am determined to get them healthier! I couldn't eat chips or anything fried for so long due to stomach problems and I so missed them, well they are now back on the menu and I get no ill effects from them. A very satisfied customer :) Also food now tastes like food and not the fat they are cooked in."

"I have to agree with bloobelle (Jan 2012). I have had my actifry black for 12 months and find the food wonderful and have cooked with it almost every day. But now the clip holding the lid has snapped off. Buy it if you are prepared to replace it every year. I'm not."

"I am currently on my second Actifry and they both developed the same fault. The clip at the back of the plastic lid broke off. The second one after only 7 months. It's a shame as I like the chips and the fact they are healthy but it's not worth spending out all that money on a machine that appears to have a short shelf life."

"This is my 3rd and I couldn't be without it. The lip around the top of the bowl stops bits going underneath , must say i've never had a problem with the lids but I would like it to last longer, a 2 year guarantee would be good"

"Sadly I had to give it 1 star, not even worth 1. Had since April and now does not heat up, chip really don't taste like fried so don't believe what people say, will be looking to get my money back and doubt I will get another Tefal product as quality of products is very poor."

"I've owned Actifry's for over 5 years now having purchased one of he first models when they came in to production in 2006 and this is now my 3rd unit. The first stopped working after just over 2 yrs, the 2nd is still fine and working and I only ever replaced the paddle due to me dropping it and breaking it. I've just fitted a new kitchen and everything on show is black and chrome so the white Actifry looked odd and is now hidden in a cupboard until its needed, and the new black one in its place. I'm a heavy user and would say it gets used 5-6 times a week and no not just for chips..lol, It's a godsend for the sunday roast for the potatoes and parsnips as i didn't have a large oven, I use it for roasted veg, stir fries, and have tried most of the recipies in the book (pineapple chicken being my favourite), I've even bought additional hot air frying books for more ideas. Really for how simple these are they have to be the most convieniant kitchen appliance on the market and personally I wouldn't be without mine, I have even taken mine on weekends away when ive stayed in hotels for a quick and easy meal, avoiding hotel restaurant prices..lol
The only Cons would be, they are a little noisey and bulky compared to other small fryers but saying that the Pros far out weigh it, far healthier, less consumption of oil, no burning oil/greasy smell, the versatility, simple and very easy to use and even easier to clean."

"Thought I should send an update to my earlier review. The end of the paddle has just snapped off during cooking roast potatoes. I feel this shouldn't have happened after 7 months
of intermittent use, don't they test these appliances thoroughly before putting them on the market? I am hoping it is under guarantee but could do without the hassle."

"I purchsed the Black Actifry Plus, the chips were lovely soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside (homemade).
What bothers me is the bunching up of chops and chicken legs and sausages they do not brown evenly but tastes lovely when cooked, a bit noisy."

"Not the best by a long way. The chips took an age to cook and in no way tasted anything like the chips, real or frozen out of a normal deep fat fryer. I did really want to like this product but for me it would of been left on the shelf with the rest of the (New ideas) that come around every now and again.

"I purchased this MONTHS ago when it was a 'pick of the day'. I LOVE IT - SO DOES MY ENTIRE FAMILY WHO HAVE NO DIFFICULTY IN USING IT TOO.........so versatile, so easy, such a healthy way to cook foods that previously would have to have been saturated in oils....so I find that I use it almost every day. I don't think I would want to be without one of these in my kitchen ever again!! It is certainly a considered purchase because it isn't cheap and I did think about it for ages before getting one....(flexi-pay swung the deal)...but well worh every penny. The Actifry does exactly what is says on the box to be honest and after months of almost daily use, to date I can find nothing negative to say about it at all. Happy to recommend to other Ideal World viewers - family and friends have been converted already once they have sampled what it can do.......NOT JUST FOR CHIPS."

"i would really really recomend this, it's brill,i'm a diabetic and have to watch i can have to eat,i pick up ready made meals and there is so much sugar ect in them,there is not much i can have, with the tefal i can have a a lot more meals and deserts without worrying about how much sugar there is and the food tastes better aswell,for all you diabetic's out there and everybody BUY IT,BUY IT,IT'S WORTH IT,and i can eat now without worrying how much satterated fat there is and sugars,brill,THANK YOU TEFAL."

"I've had the Actifry for some months now and I'm really pleased with it. It's really useful for cooking 'roast' vegetables such as butternut squash, parsnips etc.
I'm very gentle with it because so many of the reviewers state that they've had to replace parts.
The timer is useless, it really isn't loud enough and it doesn't switch the Actifry off, so I don't really understand why it has been installed."

"1st review I have ever done - felt I had to comment - I have bought all sorts of gagets - mostly cluttering up my cupboards!!! but this is on the counter-top and is staying there!! It realy is FABULOUS, have read other reviews and treat the lid with care but so far so good. This realy is a WINNER !!!"

"This is a brilliant piece of equipment, Only problem is adventually the lids crack, I am now on my seventh actifry, but love the way it cooks so always replace it. The longest I have had one is 11 months before return, I really wish Tefal would improve the manufacture of the lid. A new lid purchased from Tefal is over £40, so hardly worth buying, you may as well buy a new Actifry, especially when Ideal world have one of their special deals on."

"I really do love this product, but I too am on my second Actifryer (first one bought from somewhere else, and dearer), my first one only lasted me just over twelve months, I rang Tefal up and they offered to sell me one as , as they said, it would be near the same price to get it fixed. I was dissapointed and think it should warrant a two year guarantee if they are confident about the quality!. The amount of money it saved me in cooking oil though paid for its self, just wished it would have lasted longer, having said that though, they are brilliant and would not be without one."

and they were good
I've also made hash browns not good ! Just broke up
in the actifry .
I don't think it makes too much noise while cooking
No more than a microwave
As it states on idealworld it turns off after timer runs out
this is not true it just keeps cooking BUT it has a loud beep
to say the times up
Tefal must sort this one out bad glitch if you ask me
So if you were out in the garden the food would burn
As it just keeps on cooking

"Bought this when it was the Birthday special and I love it. I have read the other reviews so try to clean it without removing the lid as they say it is delicate. I wish the timer would turn it off too, we are not used to having to go and turn things off any more are we? I have done chips and wedges, I put a lump of cheese in and some garlic, chicken pieces, sausages, roast vegetables in fact whatever I am cooking I always check to see if I can cook it in the Actifry first. A whole new taste and cooking experience."
